Hana Ibrahimova is a senior leader in international development, diplomacy, and sustainable investment with more than twenty years of executive experience across the United Nations system, high-level diplomacy, and global partnerships. Her career spans multilateral policy design, crisis response, blended finance, and the delivery of complex initiatives that connect strategy with on-the-ground implementation and community impact.
Mrs. Ibrahimova served as Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, leading political, economic, and multilateral engagement and working closely with senior government officials, parliamentarians, the Swiss business community, and the country’s dynamic startup ecosystem. Her work strengthened international cooperation, advanced strategic partnerships, and elevated engagement at major platforms, including the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, and the World Bank and IMF meetings.
Earlier in her career, Ambassador Ibrahimova held senior roles at the United Nations Development Programme in New York, including positions within the Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery and the Mine Action portfolio. In these roles, she shaped crisis and development policy, supported field operations, and mobilized significant resources, securing multi-million dollar humanitarian and development funding for UNDP and its partners.
Ambassador Ibrahimova later served in a senior diplomatic role at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations, where she led negotiations with member states, civil society, and the private sector, and advanced triangular and South-South cooperation. She played an active role across key UN committees, including several in which she was elected Vice Chair. She also led major convenings during the United Nations General Assembly, the World Economic Forum, and the World Bank and IMF meetings, bringing together governments, philanthropies, investors, and private sector leaders to shape policy and financing priorities.
Complementing her practitioner experience, Ambassador Ibrahimova is active in academia and thought leadership. A graduate of Columbia University, Hana returned to her alma mater as a lecturer and has designed and taught graduate courses at both Columbia University and New York University on international development, social and political analysis, negotiations and strategic partnerships. Her academic work emphasizes practical frameworks that can scale successfully in real-world settings.
Ambassador Ibrahimova is widely recognized for her ability to build cross-sector partnerships, lead high-stakes negotiations, and translate policy and investment priorities into actionable solutions. Her background positions her strongly to guide integrated agrivoltaic, sustainable energy, and agriculture models, contributing excellence in strategy, blended finance, innovation, and community partnership to Youth Power Ventures’ mission.
Known for her hands-on, action-oriented approach, Ambassador Ibrahimova focuses on building practical systems that work on the ground and deliver measurable impact. Outside of her professional work, she is a passionate runner and enjoys cultural exploration, contemporary art, and playing the guitar.
